I purchased a 120-gallon system for my command truck in June of 2007. I wanted a versatile quick knock down unit for any application.
During the July 4 fireworks display an errant fireworks landed along the river igniting a large willow tree, which quickly spread. I responded with my command unit along with the engine company. I made an initial attack with the foam unit, successfully controlling the spreading fire and extinguishing the tree fire. The fire was contained to a 25’ x 30’ area
In late August, I responded to an ATV rollover that caught fire and ignited a brush fire. My unit was the first arriving unit, backed up by a medic crew returning from a call we were able to successfully knock down the brush fire an extinguish the ATV fire prior to the first arriving engine. The ATV frame was magnesium and required a continuous application of foam to extinguish. The fire was contained to a 20’x 20’ area
I continued to use the foam unit throughout the summer on car fires, and roadside fires with continued success, I did have one problem with a line kinking at the back of the truck using 1” forestry hose, and I have since added 12’ of booster line hose to prevent it from happening again.
This unit has great knock down potential on car fires, I use a foam product sold by E.F. Recovery that replaces A.F.F.F foam on car fires with amazing results.
In closing thank you for a superior product.
